Optical and Thermal Properties of Mixed Alkali Phosphate Based Glasses
Glassy samples with a composition of 40P2O5–30V2O5–(30-x)Li2O– xK2O, 0<x<30 (mol %) were prepared by the conventional melt quenching technique in two forms of bulk and blown film. X-ray diffraction patterns corroborated the amorphous feature of the samples. Density of samples was investigated by using Archimedes principle. Based on absorption and reflection spectra, indirect a...
متن کاملCompositional dependence of the nonlinear refractive index of new germanium-based chalcogenide glasses
In this paper, we report results of n2 measurements of new chalcogenide glasses in the Ge–Sb–S–Se system using a modified Z-Scan technique. Measurements were made with picosecond pulses emitted by a 10Hz Q-switched mode-locked Nd-YAG laser at 1064nm under conditions suitable to characterize ultrafast nonlinearities. The nonlinear index increases up to 500 times the n2 of fused silica with an in...
متن کاملPhotorefraction in lead tin-fluorophosphate glasses.
Permanent grating patterns have been written directly in lead-tin-fluorophosphate glasses by use of UV radiation. The effect of photorefraction is studied in different tin-fluorophosphate compositions. Recorded gratings are found to be volume rather than surface elements. The induced index changes are comparable with those seen in GeO(2)- SiO(2) glasses.
متن کاملTitanium-containing bioactive phosphate glasses.
The use of biomaterials has revolutionized the biomedical field and has received substantial attention in the last two decades. Among the various types of biomaterials, phosphate glasses have generated great interest on account of their remarkable bioactivity and favourable physical properties for various biomedical applications relating to both hard and soft tissue regeneration. This review pa...
متن کاملCompositional dependency on dissolution rate and cytocompatibility of phosphate-based glasses: Effect of B2O3 and Fe2O3 addition
The unique property of phosphate-based glasses and fibres to be completely dissolved in aqueous media is largely dependent on the glass composition. This article focuses on investigating the effect of replacing Na2O with 3 and 5 mol% Fe2O3 on cytocompatibility, thermal and dissolution properties of P2O5-CaO-Na2O-MgO-B2O3 glass system, where P2O5 content was fixed at 45 mol%. The effect of incre...
